I am a licensed, registered Clinical Social Worker who counsels individually, with couples and with families. From a relational, and humanitarian perspective, I have varied experience with interpersonal relationship issues, identity crisis, grief and loss, trauma, addictions, meaning making, and psychiatric illnesses.
Over the years as an avid client-centered and strengths based practitioner I have worked extensively in the field of advocacy, harm reduction and community health development. For the last decade I have gained extensive knowledge counselling at an international and national level in Burundi and Rwanda, in the Downtown East Side of Vancouver and in Ottawa. I have conducted my private practice while working out of the Centre for Childhood Sexual Abuse and Trauma, and the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships in Ottawa over the past 5 years.
I will listen empathically, and hope to come to a deep understanding of where you are by developing positive connections and mutual respect. I believe together we can co-create a sense of safety, connection and meaning. Through applications of narrative, talk therapy, EMDR, PTSD, and more, we will find what forms of therapy you are most comfortable with.
I believe therapy is a personal investment we make in our lives. I want to welcome you on your journey, wherever it may take you.
